Oliveira started with the Cal Stars in 2009, but he began coaching in CYO in 1999 at St. Isidore's in Danville, and added an AAU team in 2003, so he brings plenty of experience to the table.
Oliveira had a distinguished playing career, beginning with an all-NorCal stint at Lincoln High School in Stockton. He then played for Chaminade University in Honolulu, a small school best known for beating Virginia with Ralph Sampson in 1982, and moved on to play semi-pro ball in Australia.
